The aSIEMmetry consortium brings together complementary expertise from industry, academia and a national cybersecurity authority to develop the next generation of AI-powered Security Operations Centres (SOCs).

By combining operational cybersecurity experience, cutting-edge artificial intelligence research and national cyber defence expertise, the consortium ensures that the technologies developed within the project are both scientifically innovative and applicable in real-world cybersecurity operations.

Expertware is a European cybersecurity and IT services company with extensive experience in designing, implementing and operating Security Operations Centres (SOCs), Managed Security Services, cloud infrastructures and AI-enabled cybersecurity solutions.

With more than two decades of experience delivering cybersecurity services to public institutions and private organisations across Europe, Expertware combines operational expertise with advanced research and innovation activities funded under European programmes. Backed by a team of more than 110 engineers and over 250 industry certifications, the company brings expertise in software development, AI/ML, IT architecture, business intelligence, process automation, and managed services, supporting the delivery of secure and innovative solutions for complex enterprise environments.

As the coordinator of the aSIEMmetry project, Expertware is responsible for the overall project management, technical coordination and integration of the project results into an operational Next Generation SOC platform.

Within the project, Expertware leads the development of AI-powered cybersecurity capabilities, including the Security Entropy Framework integration, the LLM SOC Agent, AI training infrastructure and the validation of innovative detection technologies in realistic Security Operations Centre environments.

Artificial Intelligence Research Partner

Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) is one of Belgium's leading research universities and internationally recognised for its research in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, data science and digital technologies. With extensive experience in European collaborative research, VUB contributes with scientific expertise to the development of trustworthy, secure, and human-centric AI technologies.

Within aSIEMmetry, researchers from the VUB Artificial Intelligence Lab contribute scientific expertise in AI model design, machine learning algorithms and intelligent behavioural analysis for cybersecurity.

Their work focuses on developing innovative AI methods capable of learning normal behavioural patterns, identifying anomalies and improving cyber threat detection through advanced machine learning techniques.

By combining academic excellence with practical cybersecurity challenges, VUB ensures that the project's AI models are scientifically robust, explainable and suitable for deployment in operational Security Operations Centres.

National Cybersecurity Authority

The Romanian National Cyber Security Directorate (DNSC) is Romania's national competent authority for cybersecurity, responsible for strengthening the security and resilience of national digital infrastructure, coordinating responses to cyber incidents and supporting the implementation of national and European cybersecurity policies and regulations.

DNSC works closely with public authorities, operators of essential and critical services, private organisations, academia, and international partners to enhance cyber resilience, improve cyber situational awareness, and contribute to a stronger European cybersecurity ecosystem.

Within aSIEMmetry, DNSC provides operational cybersecurity expertise, supports the validation of AI technologies against real-world cybersecurity scenarios and contributes to ensuring that the developed solutions address the practical needs of Security Operations Centres and national cyber defence capabilities.

Its participation helps bridge research with operational cybersecurity, ensuring that project outcomes remain relevant to real SOC environments and emerging cyber threats.
